Fishmonger’s Café is a cute little restaurant in Woods Hole, MA. They offer local Seafood, burgers, salads & vegetarian dishes, and many more to locals, and tourists alike. They have a nicely stocked bar as well, so you can come here to enjoy food with some quality drinks!
They sit next to the entrance to the Eel Pond Harbor Drawbridge. The interior is open and bright, nice casual and comfortable ambiance. You can watch the people walk by on main street, or watch the boats passing through as the bridge. It is quite interesting to see the bridge gets opened up to let a boat pass by.
We went here for lunch, and ordered Salad & Soup combo, Crab Cake Burger and Whaler Burger. If you want somewhat a light lunch, or variety, their Pick Two ($10) options are pretty nice. They Pick Two menu has several soups, salads, and sandwiches, and you simply pick 2 items from the menu. We ordered Slow roasted beats and goat cheese salad and Soup du Jour which was chicken lentil soup. The salad was very fresh and filling, beats and goat cheese had great flavor. The soup was tasty and comforting.
The Crab Cake Burger ($15) came with lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, and Cajun-lemon tartar sauce. Substituted the side with sweet potato waffle fries ($2). The crab cake was juicy, tasty, and nice size. You can see the chunks of crab meats! The tartar sauce added great flavor on top of that as well. The sweet potato fries were really great also!
The Whaler Sandwich ($15) has hand battered, golden fried cod, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onions and tartar sauce. Substituted the side with sweet potato waffle fries ($2). Pretty good, but it was a bit small and not as satisfying as we’d hoped. But, it had fresh fish, and roll was nice also. The sweet potato fries were great!
This is a great spot to have some seafood or any other kind of dish, especially if you are in a mood for some cocktail or any other kind of drink to go with it. Perfect place to relax with family and friends.
