Black Mtn. Burger Co. 2025

We visited Black Mtn. Burger in 2017. We had a nice comfort food there. We went back to Black Mtn. Burger again to try out more of their food. We thought we got there after the lunch rush, but when we got there a little after 2pm, we were told there will be about 30 minutes wait. It was more like 20 minutes after all, so it was not so bad. We got an outdoor table, which was great on this perfect day!

We started off with a little seltzer and fruity ale. I went with 603 Seltzer Black Cherry Pomegranate ($7). It was clear like water, which was a bit surprising as I was expecting some color. It was refreshing, but didn’t have strong fruity flavor that I wanted. My hubby ordered Moat Mtn Ms. V’s Blueberry Ale ($8). This one had the pretty color from blueberries. It was crisp, fruity but not sweet. I prefer this one more since it had a stronger flavor.

For food, I figured I should order a burger from a Black Mtn. “Burger” place at least once. They had a good variety of burgers, and I chose Bison Burger ($16.75). It comes with 5.3 oz of bison patty, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles, and served with fries. I decided to add Brie ($1.25) and Siracha Mayo ($0.50). Also, substituted Asian Peanut Slaw for fries for additional $2. This made this order to be $20.50, but at I got it exactly how I wanted it. The burger was cooked just the way I ordered, packed flavor and juicy! I thought brie might be an interesting pair to the bison patty, and I really liked it. Siracha mayo gave extra flavor and a little kick. I really enjoyed this burger!

My hubby had a craving for grilled cheese, so he went with BMBC Grilled Cheese ($13.75). It is made with grilled pretzel roll, house made peach jam, goat cheese crumbles, pepper jack cheese, and hickory smoked bacon pieces. He substituted Peach Poppyseed Slaw for fries as well, making this order $15.75. The pretzel bun was much smaller than the regular roll, but very tasty. It had crazy amount of gooey melty cheese, and super generous amount of bacon pieces. It was super delicious! Peach jam was brilliant on this, every bite was amazing. Although it was smaller in portion, but very filling.

Additional $2 sounds like a lot for slaw substitution, but it was a generous amount as you can see next to the big burger. Besides, we thought they will be much healthier than fries. The Asian Peanut Slaw was nice, but not much peanut flavor. The Peach Poppyseed Slaw didn’t have strong peach flavor, although it had peach bits in there. They were both light, fresh, and crunchy. We enjoyed them, and happy with the substitutions.

The last time we visited, we had a glorious dessert, so we couldn’t resist ordering a dessert. Our lovely server, Sam, told us her favorite dessert was Bread Pudding ($7.75), so we went with that. It was made with French Toast type bread, topped with mountain of whipped cream, and huge scoops of vanilla ice cream. It was really big! More than enough to share among the two of us. We really loved it, so comforting and decadent, yet somehow didn’t feel heavy.

Our return to Black Mtn. Burger was a success! Our server Sam was amazing, she took a really good care of us. We were happy and full, and we made sure to get some walk afterwords to burn some calories (LOL). If you are in the area and want some comfort food, try this spot!
