On our last day in Portland, we went to OK Omens for their Happy Hour. The building kind of looked like an old church or something, kind of fitting with the name OK Omens. The structure was an interesting shape, almost like a soft triangle.

The inside was elegant, I liked the way it looked with the modern light fixture and the contrasting color between the white and dark navy color, with pop of soft earthy color to add warmth to the space. They also had a pretty big outdoor seating area. Since it was a beautiful day, we decided to sit outside.

We got a couple of cocktails, Omens Summer Spritz ($10/Happy Hour), made with Dry Rose Seltzer, Yuzu, Sake, and Dolin Blanc, and Summer Old Fashioned ($10/Happy Hour), made with Evan Williams, Celery, Orange, Rhubarb Bitters, and Mint Simple. Omens Summer Spritz was not very sweet, but had a hint of sweetness. Not overly fruity either. Just a really good adult beverage. Summer Old Fashioned had a great aroma of orange, nice, strong drink to make you relax for sure.

We then ordered a few dishes off the Happy Hour menu. First one was Ceviche Cocktail ($9/Happy Hour), with Halibut, Shrimp, Avo, Cucumber, and Clamato, with Machete Chips.

It wasn’t a big portion, but it sure was packed with ample amount of seafood! Chips were crispy and tasty with great seasoning. It had a slight little kick that went great with the ceviche.

Then, French Fries ($4/Happy Hour), with Za’tar Ranch and Ketchup on the side. The fries were really nice and crispy. Za’tar had a nice kick to it. Just the right amount of salt on fries, which made it extra tasty without making it too salty.

We also tried “Rotating” Toast ($10/Happy Hour). On this day, it was Fava Beans with Hazelnut Romesco sauce, and Mint. I must be honest, I was not very excited about how it sounded. But, they sure had me after one bite. It was super amazing! Bread was perfectly crunchy, fava beans had great plump texture, and the flavorful oil making it extra delicious.

Last but not least, Open Faced Ahi Torta ($20). This is not a part of the Happy Hour menu, but from their regular menu. This is made with Spiced Dusted Yellow Fin Tuna, Basil Aioli, and Ancho Chile Butter on Potato Bun. Tuna was super fresh, thickly sliced. The spice on top had a kick to it, maybe sansho-type spice? It went nicely with the tuna. It had fresh avocado underneath (it sure tasted like avocado). The bread was soft and tasty. The butter and aioli were sooooo good!

Their bathrooms are located all the way at the back. They have two gender-neutral bathrooms. The inside had the same color scheme of dark blue and crisp white that pops. I liked the wall design that had bottles of wines being served. They do have a huge wine list here, so that makes sense.

We had a nice, relaxing early dinner here at OK Omens. The staffs were very polite and friendly. The food and drinks were delightful. We loved all the dishes, quality you can taste. One thing to note, they include the tips in the bill, and they do state that on the check. We had no issue with that, since we were happy with their service and food/drinks. It was a great spot for a nice dinner, and the Happy Hour prices were super affordable, such a steal! If you are looking for a tasty, affordable, relaxing HH spot, give OK Omens a try!
