Beacon Hill Chocolates

I first learnt about this place and their product from a sweet friend of mine with a sweet gift. She gave us a box full of artisan chocolates! So, while I was in Boston, I went to check their store and their chocolates. They are located on the upper level of a red brick building, with large window showcasing their goodies.

The inside was filled with chocolates everywhere. No matter which direction I looked, all sorts of chocolates! I was familiar with their truffles, but they had so much more than that. They had chocolate bars, chocolate covered nuts and fruits, candies, fudge, etc., etc…

Another thing they have that I really love is their handmade keepsake gift boxes. They have loads of them too! It is quite fun just looking through these boxes. They are more on the vintage design, which I think are just awesome!

They have box for every occasion and recipients. You can find one for your mom, dad, sister, brother, you can find one with Boston images, you can find one for birthday, wedding, graduation… And they even have boxes for Ivy League universities like Columbia, Stanford,Harvard, etc.

I was there to get some beautiful truffles for my husband, so I went to see the option. And my goodness, they are serious about their artisan chocolates! They had so many different kinds of truffles, it was crazy! Individual truffles are anywhere from $2.75 to $4.00. There is no price listed on the truffles, so just think average of around $3.35 each.

I picked a cute Handmade Keepsake Gift Box that says “To My Dear Hubby” that holds 12 truffles. The keepsake box of this size is $36, plus the cost of truffles.

So, after spending quite a good amount of time looking at all the truffle offering and choosing one after another, I finally got my 12 pieces. And this is how the top tier looks like. Super cute, right? It was so hard choosing just 12 of them, and also, it is like a puzzle. They have to fit inside the box, so you can’t choose all big sized one either. Luckily for me, the staff who helped me was very skilled and experienced. She helped me to get everything in there just right!

And here is the bottom tier. Look at these vibrant colors!

Pistachio Praline is made with layers of pistachio praline and dark chocolate ganache, finished with a sprinkle of pistachio pieces. It was very pistachio-y. Loved the praline, kind of butterscotch flavor that went great with the pistachio.

Thunder Road is made with rich dark chocolate surrounding homemade marshmallows and pecans roasted in butter and salt, and their own chipotle thunder. It was solid chocolate with great dark cacao flavor.

Cappuccino Cup is made with a dark chocolate cup filled with pure Arabica coffee ganache topped with a white chocolate hazelnut foam. It was very cute in a shape of coffee cup. Loved the little whip on top. Not so much flavor of cappuccino, but it was still tasty.

Martini Glass is made with dark chocolate ganache, and yes, Grey Goose Vodka! You can really taste the Grey Goose in this one which was really cool! Fun little chocolate for sure.

Peanut Butter Crownfish is made with milk chocolate and peanut butter ganache. They had three kinds of fishes there, yellow one, orange and and pink one, all different flavors. So cute! We felt bad eating him, but he was peanut buttery and creamy.

Kitty Cat is made with extra-bittersweet dark chocolate ganache. Another kind that we felt bad about eating… But, it was very nice, the bittersweet flavor and the cocoa flavor almost tasted like brandy. In addition to the cat, they also had mouse and dog kinds too with different flavors.

Rogue Ale is a fun beer shaped one, made with milk chocolate hazelnut ganache with Rogue Hazelnut Brown Beer. It had real beer flavor! It can almost give you a nice buzz… Great! They also had Full Sail IPA chocolate too.

Irish Cream is made with milk chocolate ganache infused with Irish Cream. It was kind of velvety, tasted like whipped cream with chocolate. Not sure about Irish cream, but I really liked it regardless.

And we got more of these alcohol infused ones… Strawberry Daiquiri Shooter is made with Captain Morgan Strawberry Rum, lime juice, strawberry mash and white chocolate ganache. It really smelled like strawberry daiquiri! The flavor was like an extra sweet version of strawberry daiquiri. Awesome! Love these truffles with a little liqueur in it!

Strawberry Fields Forever Heart is made with fresh strawberries, vanilla and white chocolate ganache in a heart-shaped dark chocolate shell, It was extremely creamy, melt right in your mouth! It had really nice strawberry flavor.

CoCo Nut Chanel is made with coconut puree coconut paste and toasted fresh coconut, all blended together with white chocolate & vanilla bean, all draped in a dark chocolate shell. Fun name, and yes, not Chanel, but very coconut-y with real coconut meat in the inside! Great truffle for coconut lovers.

Banana Foster is made with a decadent banana caramel with brandy, brown sugar and cinnamon. What what! It was caramel-y and banana-y, tasted like banana foster to me! So awesome!

It was a sweet delight, the store was cute, inviting and welcoming. The lady who helped me was really nice, it was fun to see she was also excited to see my choices of truffles. We had fun creating the box for my hubby. And yes, my sweet hubby shared all the chocolates with me…making this experience extra sweet! If you are in the area and need a gift for someone special, stop by and get some beautiful and tasty truffles!
