Kudo Society Cafe

We are always looking for a breakfast/brunch spot that is open quite early in NJ, as we often go over the bridge to run some errands on early Saturday mornings. We found Kudo Society Cafe about couple of months ago, and we have become instant fans. They have just a few parking spot right in front of the building. The inside it much larger than I thought it would be, with tasty looking desserts neatly displayed inside window showcase.

They had a good amount of seating, which was great. We were there early, so we got to pick wherever we wanted to sit. The barstool chairs were really cute, with the backrest in a shape of a coffee cup!

They had all sorts of interesting and enticing drink offerings. The drink menu is VERY large! There is something there for everyone. We got Lavender Vanilla Latte ($5.25) and Macaroon White Mocha ($5.25). They made our drinks extra cute with some design on the foam! Lavender one came with an angel, and Mocha came with a rose. How adorable are they? They were both really tasty, with the right amount of sweetness. The lavender flavor was strong but not overwhelming, it was nice. Great aroma for sure. I could taste the toasted coconut on the mocha. We enjoyed them both very much.

I was really interested in their rice bowl offering. I chose Bacon Kimchi Rice Bowl ($12.95). It is made with seasoned rice with lettuce, kimchi, cheese, homemade spicy dressing, and yes, bacon. The bowl was much bigger than I thought it would be. The rice on the bottom was warm, and the toppings were all cold, which was kind of strange… Bacon bits were nice and crunchy, with crisp and fresh lettuce. Homemade spicy dressing was great, it was really spicy! Not as much kimchi as I expected, it had more lettuce than anything, making this dish more like a salad. Healthier dish than I imagined, which was a nice surprise. Delicious and filling!

My hubby went with another item that caught our eyes. They offer “Kudossants” which are their “Original” Croissant and Waffles hybrid. Interesting… He ordered Brunch Kudossants ($10.95), made with Kudossant, egg, cheese, and a choice of sausage, ham, bacon. He chose bacon. It was soft, fluffy, and moist… Nice sweetness to it, especially with extra syrup drizzle. Cheesy and tasty! It was a bit small, but since the rice bowl was huge, and we were sharing both items together, we were full at the end.

The staff here was really nice and friendly, and they have rewards! More reasons to go back! We certainly enjoyed our early brunch at Kudo Society Cafe. It was tasty and affordable. So, we decided to go back a few weeks later.

This time, we got a free small coffee with rewards earned. Thanks!!! For food, my hubby chose Kudo Burrito ($12.95), made with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cheddar cheese, onions, and green peppers.

It was quite large, and amazing cheesy goodness! Packed with ingredients, had a nice weight to it. The eggs were cooked just right, not too runny, not too dry. It was certainly meaty and very tasty!

I loved the rice bowl from the first visit, I decided to stick with that. But I didn’t order exactly the same kind, this time, I ordered BBQ Pulled Pork Kimchi Rice Bowl ($12.95). Instead of bacon, this one came with BBQ pulled pork, and lots of it!

This one also had loads of healthy goodness, with a nice kick to it. Loved the shredded cheese, which also makes the spicy flavor a bit mild. It is still a bit strange to have warm and cold ingredients in a bowl… Pulled pork and rice were warm, while other ingredients were cold. Regardless, it was so good!!! Meat was tender and juicy, generous amount of it over the rice.

We had great food at both visit here at Kudo Society Cafe. Tasty, affordable, and good portion. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing, and I can see it is a very popular spot with the locals. We saw customers of all ages coming in and out during our visit. I am sure we will visit again!
