Marco Prime Steaks & Seafood

During our first trip to Marco Island, FL, we had one of the best dining experiences at Marco Prime Steaks & Seafood. So, we wanted to make sure we went back for more of their delicious food during this visit! We sat at their outdoor seating this time. They have a nice large outdoor seating, not too crowded, with nice breeze. Once we were settled, the staff brought out some complimentary bread selections and mascarpone cheese & preserve on the side.

We had pretty good cocktails during our last visit, so we decided to try other cocktails. We ordered Pisco Punch and Tropical Journey.

Pisco Punch is made with Barsol Pisco, St. Elizabeth Allspice, Malibu, Lemon Juice, House Passion Fruit Cordial, and Pineapple Juice. Tropical Journey is made with Absolut Elyx Vodka, St. Germaine, House Kiwi Cordial, Clement Coconut Rum, and Lemon Juice. These cocktails tasted very, VERY sweet. It was like drinking syrup… Not a high quality cocktail that I was looking for, just too syrupy for me.

For food, I decided to start with a soup. A great thing about Marco Prime menu is that you can add soup or salad to your main entrée for $8. I went with Maine Lobster Bisque, made with Butter-Poached Maine Lobster.

The bisque had a great flavor of lobster. It had small bits of lobster meat in there, high quality, velvety, and rich. The breadstick-looking thing on top was more like puff pastry, which was a pleasant surprise. It was very puffy and flakey. Very tasty and went great with the bisque.

Others opted for Arugula Salad to be added to their entrée. Arugula Salad is made with Red Onions, Tomatoes, Strawberries, Candied Pecans, Goat Cheese, and Freshly Baked Croutons, with Balsamic Glaze. It sure looked beautiful, and everything was super fresh! With strawberries and candied pecans, it is not your average arugula salad!

One of us at the table ordered Charred Salmon ($33), made with Caramelized Crust, Stir-Fry Vegetables, and Citrus-Chili Glaze. It looked beautiful, especially in that bright orange dish. The salmon was cooked just right, not overcooked, moist and flaky.

Another one of us went with Lobster Mac + Cheese ($24) from the “Hot Small Plates” section. It is made with Smoked Gouda Creamy Sauce. It had a great combination of Mascarpone and Gouda. It had a nice amount of lobster chunks, and packed with flavor. It was a nice, creamy and rich dish. Even though it is from the small plates section of the menu, it can certainly fill you up.

I chose Blackened Snapper ($38), made with Homemade Linguini Pasta, Garlic & EVOO, Cherry Tomato Confit, and Mixed Vegetables with Pistachio Pesto. Snapper was cooked well, flaky and juicy. The seasoning was flavorful as well. The linguini with cherry tomato was very nice, it complimented the snapper nicely.

My hubby decided to get some steak! He ordered Prime Sirloin ‘Diana’ ($24), made with Peppercorn Encrusted Sirloin, Boursin Cheese Potato Cake, Broccolini, Mushrooms, and Mustard and Shallot Brandy Cream Sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly, very tender and juicy. It had just the right amount of seasoning. The potato cake was great too, packed with flavor. It was a great dish!

After the nice dinner, we decided to order one dessert to share among the four of us. We heard that their version of Key Lime Pie with a twist is pretty good. So, we ordered Key Lime & Meringue Tort ($11) with Wild Berry Coulis.

It was very cute and elegant, I liked how it was sitting atop the bed of meringue. The meringue was nicely torched, fluffy and sweet. The Key Lime tort was perfectly tart, balancing the sweetness of the meringue. The Wild Berry Coulis added another layer of flavor of tartness, since this dessert came with a lot more meringue than expected. It was a nice ending to the tasty dinner.

We also had a cup of coffee with a side of milk. It was a nice cup of coffee, complimenting the sweet dessert.

The service was polite and friendly, and the dinner was tasty. I might say we had better experience with food with our previous visit, or the memory of the first visit raised our expectation too high… It was good, but not as great as we wanted it to be. I would say Marco Prime Steaks & Seafood is still one of our best dining spots in Marco Island, and we would love to go back again in the future!
