OL’DAYS Farm to Table

The concept of farm to table became popular several years ago, and for a good reason! We enjoyed clean, fresh dishes from farm to table restaurants. The recent favorite of them all is The Prince & The Pauper in Vermont. My goodness they were great! We also got to try a great spot in England before the pandemic hit, at The Jack Russell. Would love to go back there again in the future! Back to OL’DAYS Farm to Table, they just opened in July 2022, but this is their third location, after Buenos Aires and Miami.

The inside was bigger than it looked from the outside. It had a nice, crisp décor with white walls and light wood furnishings. They had a beautiful bar with espresso machine and fresh fruits. Simple, modern, yet somehow homey.

It was a hot, humid day, so I wanted something cold and refreshing. Instead of regular coffee or juice, I decided to try one of their Cold Pressed drinks. I went with Forever Young ($11.50), because, well, who doesn’t want to stay forever young? LOL. It is made with Pineapple, Turmeric, Apple, and Lemon. It was super strong with flavor, it will wake you up for sure! It had a nice sweetness to it from pineapple, and the acidic punch from the lemon. It was a good size bottle too. If you don’t want the whole bottle, they offer a shot of the cold press also.

For appetizer, we tried Tapioca Bites ($9), served with Agave and Spicy Honey. It was very pretty and lively, with crunchy exterior and soft interior. Not greasy at all. However, it lacked flavor somehow. The dipping sauces were great, but even with that, it was not as good as I wanted them to be.

For main, we did our usual: one sweet dish and one savory dish. For the sweet dish, we chose Champ-Pancakes ($14), Oats and Yogurt Pancake filled with Mashed Banana and Coconut Flakes on top. Served with Fresh Fruits and Honey.

It looked so pretty on the plate, like something out of a paradise island. The size of the pancake was large, with generous stuffing of fresh, ripe bananas. With the banana and coconut, the pancake had a nice sweetness to it already, but with the honey, it made it just perfect. It was very filling and satisfying!

For the savory dish, we went with Short Rib Bun ($20), made with Slow Cooked, Grass Fed Short Rib, Pickled Onions, Arugula, and Aioli. Served with Yuca Fries. The Short Rib was so tender and juicy, with just the right amount of sweetness to it. The pickles cut out some of the sweetness, making it a balanced flavor. It was an excellent sandwich!

Yuca fries were thick and substantial. Not greasy but crunchy and potato-y in the inside. The aioli (pesto flavor?) was super tasty, but their homemade ketchup was slightly watery.

We ended the brunch with Capuccino ($5). Since they are made on their special espresso machine, it was quite tasty! The foam was perfectly creamy, great way to end a tasty meal. Their coffee is made from 50% Ethiopia Orange Sundried Logita Bensa, harvested from only orange cherries. How interesting! The other 50% is El Salvador Finca San Luis, Bourbon Washed. With that, it gives slightly fruity notes, which was excellent. I don’t think you can get this particular coffee anywhere else, but at the OL’DAYS Farm to Table.

Their bathroom is all the way back, just look for the beautiful lemon tree painted on the wall. The bathroom is to the left.

It was as bright as the rest of the restaurant, well stocked, clean, and a nice size.

Our server was polite and friendly, we were well taken care of. We were completely full and happy after the meal. But didn’t feel heavy at all, with all the fresh ingredients. I would love to go back again for more tasty dishes!
