Josh’s at Davisville – CLOSED

This spot used to be a different restaurant, but it has reborn as a completely new, modern, a bit more upscale restaurant. It had some parking, but not many. There is a Dunkin right next to it with more parking space, so maybe you could ask them if you could park there while dining at Josh’s.

As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a welcoming smile. They had a nice bar with wooden back wall, creating warm and cozy feeling. Only had a handful of seats at the bar counter.

The dining area was not very big, but not too small. They had nice space around each tables so that you are not crumped in there. The interior was clean, bright, with earthy tones. They had tables of all sizes, accommodating any party size. It was a chilly evening, and it was a bit cold in the restaurant too…

They had a semi-separated space in the back, but only separated by a partial, half wall. The interesting about there seating (to me) was that they had both regular and tall table seating everywhere. Decoration was minimum but elegant and warm.

Once we all put in our order, our serve brought complimentary bread. And look at these babies! They were nice and hot, with crunchy exterior with super fluffy inside! And yes, they were different kinds of bread too! We had one with olive, cranberry and of course, regular bread. They were soo good, they went quick… Our server saw that and asked if we wanted more. Yes please, thank you!

We started with a couple of cocktails. We ordered Honey Pear Margarita ($10) and Apple Cran Moscow Mule ($9). First of all, I liked the affordable cocktail prices! Honey Pear Margarita was strong with noticeable sweetness from honey. Didn’t have much pear flavor, but I still liked it. Apple Cran Moscow Mule had nice fruity flavor without overwhelming. It was a nice drink! Off to a good start here.

For appetizer, I ordered Lobster Mac and Cheese ($15), made with house made mac & cheese, and yes, lobster. This dish was AMAZING!!!! Came fresh out of the oven, piping hot. Pasta was soft and fluffy, with generous amount of lobster chunk meat that is plump and tasty. The bread crumb on top was golden brown, crispy and crunchy. It added nice texture to the gooey cheese goodness!

My hubby went with 1/2 Pound Stuffed Quahog ($8), with linguica and bell peppers. It was certainly nice big size! It was juicy and packed with flavor. It had some chunks of linguica, making it more meaty than some other stuffed quahog I’ve had elsewhere.

For main, I ordered Filet of Sole Français ($21), cooked with Parmesan Egg, served with asparagus and jasmine rice on this day. It was very “Parmesan” for sure, which I really enjoyed. The top was nice and crispy! The fish itself was flaky and juicy, delightful. Asparagus was cooked just right, with nice soft and firm texture. Jasmine rice was a bit tough. If you are not a fan of these sides, you could ask them to be substituted for different sides. For example, one of our party order the same dish, but with mashed potatoes instead of jasmine rice.

My hubby chose Seafood Alfredo ($26), cooked with wine, cream, pepper, and Parmesan cheese. I loved the Pappardelle Pasta! It was so great with this dish. It had generous amount of seafood of several kinds. Some huge shrimp, scallops, and even lobster chunk meats! They were all plump, fresh and tasty.

Another one of our party ordered Salmon ($21), with English cucumber and fresh dill salsa. It looked really good, and it tasted as good as it looks. Also served with asparagus and jasmine rice.

We all enjoyed everything we ordered, so we decided to get some desserts with coffee ($2.50). I asked for some milk, to go with my coffee, and it was a good cup of coffee.

For dessert, they had a few to choose from. We decided to order two desserts to share among the four of us. The first pick was Peppermint Cheesecake ($6). It looked really cute, full of holiday spirit! It had chocolate cake on the bottom, which was a nice surprise. The cheesecake was moist and dense, with great peppermint flavor. It was great!

The second dessert of our choice was Wild Berry Cobbler ($6). It came with a nice amount of whipped cream, and filled with all sorts of berries, such as blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. It was a perfect combination of sweet and tart flavor, really good!

Their bathroom is off the side, tucked away just a bit from the main dining area. I liked the door sign, large wooden fish! A blue/green fish on men’s bathroom door, and pink/orange fish on women’s bathroom.

The inside was nice and spacious, clean and well-lit. They had a tall bar stool chair on one corner which I thought was interesting… but it made a perfect spot for your purse or whatever you might be carrying.

We had a really nice dinner here. Our server was nice and attentive, polite and helpful. We spoke other staffs here and they were all warm and welcoming. We really enjoyed all the food and drinks we had, including the desserts. Tasty food and drinks at affordable price tag, I am glad this restaurant opened! We will be back when we go back to Cape Cod!
