Still catching up from a while ago… We went to the Peak with Priceless Restaurant & Bar for Thanksgiving celebration. If you are wondering where the part “priceless” comes from, it is from partnership with MasterCard. If you book via MasterCard, you get some perks. It is located on the 101st floor, and most of the seating have amazing skyline of view of Manhattan. To get to Peak, you need to take the elevator to 5th floor, and then take another elevator to 101st floor accompanied by a designated staff.
On this Thanksgiving Day, the weather was less than optimum. Cold, thick cloud, and rainy. When we arrived, they told us they had numerous cancellations. Well, all we could see out the window was white/gray clouds, and nothing else, so I can understand the reason why people wanted to cancel. The inside was beautiful, modern, and yet warm and inviting. The space is surrounded by a tall, large windows. I can only imagine what the experience would be like on a gorgeous sunny day.

Our server, William, welcomed us with a warm smile. He was very friendly and courteous. We started off this special Thanksgiving dinner with some cocktails. Two of us ordered Cosmo Colada ($21) made with Vodka, Curaçao, Cranberry, Lime, Coconut, Pineapple, with Jamaican Rum Float. I love Pina Colada, so this one was very interesting. It was very pretty to look at, and nice pastel pink color. It was milky, fruity and elegantly sweet. I enjoyed the nice flavor of coconut, and it was not overly pineapple-y, but a wonderful mix of cranberry notes. So good! My hubby went with Bananarama ($23), made with Rye Whiskey, Banana, Amaro, Bittermens, and Mole Bitters. It was like an Old Fashion with a banana twist. It had a great flavor with depth and subtle sweetness. I could taste the banana a little bit, which I thought was interesting and really tasty. And you can see the pointy end of the Edge in the background, and would have had a magnificent view of the Manhattan skyline on a sunny day.

They had a special menu for the Thanksgiving instead of their regular menu. It was $225 per person, which is not cheap, but the price also includes the access to the Edge observation deck. The general admission to the Edge observation deck is $47 per person, so if you think of that, the food part is more like $178 per person. Anyways, the course menu started with their Milk Bread, accompanied by Honey Butter. The bread was like a cloud, super fluffy. Whipped honey butter was amazing, this was a magical start this special dinner.

Then, a choice of appetizers. I chose Yellowfin Tuna, which came with Mango, Shiso, and Fermented Chili. It was accompanied by crispy Rice cracker to add crunchy texture. The plating was just so beautiful and pleasant to look at, so many details, I can imagine the time and effort that went into this dish! The fish was very fresh, thickly sliced and meaty. I enjoyed the added sweet flavor of mango, and a hint of that heat and kick from chili.

My hubby went with Short Rib, made with Black Trumpet Mushrooms, Beef Jam, and Oat Bread. It was like an open-faced sandwich that you get to create on your own. It was presented like a piece of modern art. Bread was perfectly toasted, so it held the weight of all that meaty goodness, and the bite of everything together was like a symphony in your mouth.

The other person chose Grilled Radicchio with Goat Gouda, Pecan, and Gala Apple. It arrived to the table looking like an abstract art. Fresh, high quality ingredients that you can see and taste.

In addition to the appetizer and main dish, the course menu also had side dishes. We got Stuffing and Roasted Cauliflower. You have to have stuffing for Thanksgiving… Their stuffing is made with Chicken Sausage and Golden Raisin. The texture reminded me of mashed potato which was interesting to say the least, but it was super flavorful. Cauliflower is made with Gremolata and Almond. It came with three different colors of cauliflower, very enticing and appetizing. The cauliflowers were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. I really loved the sliced almond in here.

Before the main dish arrived, we ordered another round of cocktails. I stayed tropical and got Concrete Jungle Bird ($22), made with Rum, Aperitivo, Pineapple, Lime, Passionfruit, and Nutmeg. My hubby also stayed with the Banana theme, and ordered Banan After Dark ($25), made with Rum, Espresso, St. George NOLA Coffee, and Tempus Fugit Banana. Jungle Bird was indeed very tropical, it sure helped me get festive even with the not-so-great weather outside. Banana cocktail was like chocolate banana with espresso martini. It was so good! Strong and flavorful, elegant and creative drinks.

And the detail doesn’t end with just the drinks and food, it is extended to everything they do here. The cocktail stirring spoon had their logo on the bottom. It was a cute little surprise at the end.

For the main, I chose Halibut with Snow Pea, Black Rice, and Chanterelle Mushroom. The contrast of golden orange halibut against the dark black brought that wow moment when it arrived to our table. Halibut was perfecly flaky and moist. Rice was spicy but not overpowering, but kind of the heat that gives warmth to your body from the inside. It was a very flavorful dish, I was happy with my choice.

My hubby went with Beef Fillet that comes with Honeynut Squash, Carrot, and Maple. He ordered his steak medium rare, and was cooked to perfection. They were juicy, tender, and flavorful. Carrots were also cooked just right, soft but not too soft, and had simple yet great flavor. This dish looked like a simple dish, but the flavor was complex with such depth to it.

And the third person went with the classic, Roasted Turkey with Brussels Sprouts and Cranberry. Turkey was tender and packed with flavor. The sides were excellent as well.

After the main dishes, we received a Pomegranate with Black Pepper Sorbet. It was the perfect pallet cleanser after a delicious, rich, flavorful dishes. It had a great basil note, and pomegranate seeds pops as you eat. The subtle, warming heat of black pepper added another layer to this fun and refreshing pallet cleanser dish.

Now, time for desserts! There were 3 desserts to choose from, so we each got a different one: Pumpkin Cheesecake, Carrot Cake, and Chocolate S’mores. The Pumpkin Cheesecake was made with Gingersnap Crumble, Cranberry, and Sage. It was like a soft mousse, tart with berry. Some salt to enhance the flavor, and pumpkin seeds for the added crunchy texture. The Carrot Cake was made with Cream Cheese, Pecan, topped with Ginger Ice Cream. The came was moist and delicious, and the cream cheese had amazing flavor. The ginger ice cream went so good with the carrot cake. Both desserts were excellent!

But then, here come the S’mores… This dessert had that “wow” factor all over it from the moment it arrived. Just look at this beautiful art that reminds me of golden sun, fire, and beehive all at the same time. Very impressive! It is made with Dark Chocolate, Passionfruit, Graham Cracker, and Toasted Merengue. It had tart seeds, to balance out the sweetness of the meringue. The sweetness was controlled with dark chocolate. Loved the crunchy texture from the graham cracker, and amazing, perfectly torched meringue.

As we were celebrating Thanksgiving together, the Peak with Priceless brought us a small, complimentary dessert! It was a chocolate cake covered in whipped cream, topped with vanilla ice cream. How sweet is that? Thank you for helping us celebrate this day and making it extra special!

We added Cappuccino ($7) to the order, so we can take our time and see if the weather improved. The cappuccino was really nice, strong with the creamy foam.

The bathroom is all the way in the back left, look for the Exit sign. Go up a few stairs and down the long hallway. They have one gender neutral bathroom, and one accessible bathroom.

Beyond the white door at the end of the hallway, there are additional bathrooms if there is a line of people waiting. The bathroom was large and clean, well-lit and modern looking. There is a baby changing station inside the accessible bathroom.

Once we were all done, we decided to check out the Edge observation deck. The access to the Edge from the restaurant is in the back, and you have to go down several staircase as you can see on the first photo. It was cold and windy, but the clouds were giving away to the sky and the sun, so we were able to see the Manhattan skyline more and more, until it got mostly cleared!

Once we were able to see the skyline below, it was really awesome! Now, Edge is NOT the highest observation deck in the city, but, it is the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere. Impressive, right? Once you have taken in all the scenery, you can go through the other door to their gift shop and such. You can also see more of the view from the inside the building as well.

We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner at Peak with Priceless. The service was excellent, we were well taken care of by several staffs. Also, the manager came by to check on us as well, to ensure we were having a nice experience. It certainly is a bit pricy, but if you go on a regular day and not the holiday, it will not cost that much at all. You just need to spend minimum of $60 per person to receive complimentary access to the Edge from what I understand. So, if you are interested in the Edge observation deck, AND some delicious food and drinks, you might want to try Peak with Priceless!
