The Spotted Cow Cafe

I love finding a hidden gem spot, like the Tractor Shed Cafe and Farm Stand in NH we recently visited. We found a lovely little cafe called The Spotted Cow Cafe a couple of months ago, that gives us the same, warm feeling when we visit. It is in a quiet country side, and they serve breakfast, lunch, ice cream (during season), baked goods, and all sorts of coffee.

From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with a big welcoming smile. The inside walls and ceiling were covered with wood, creating that cozy homey feeling. simple furniture but lots of cute, funny decorations. I loved how they had fluffy bear and spotted cow cuddly friends there!

On this day, we already had breakfast, so we were not planning to eat here at Spotted Cow Cafe, but maybe a coffee and a dessert. We were interested in their Coffee Flight ($18.75), and on this day, they were featuring all the ice cream flavors that they offer to celebrate the start of the ice cream season. How fun is that! They had Neapolitan, Cookie Dough, Banana Split, and Cotton Candy Lemonade.

The coffee float was a nice size, and one of the flight was not a coffee beverage but a lemonade. It was refreshing to have a lemonade after having three sweet-flavored coffee. They were all pretty darn good, and yes, reminded me of ice cream on each one for sure! They captured the ice cream flavor into the coffee nicely with syrup and toppings. I could smell and taste the banana on the Banana Split one! The lemonade was good too, a certainly great drink for the summer.

Even though we were not hungry, I could not resist one of their baked goods, French Toast Muffin ($4.75) with warm buttery syrup (?) for additional $1. And I tell you, the additional $1 was totally worth it in my opinion, it was like a warm liquid of gold! I never had French Toast like this, so it was interesting. Sweet, decadent, and comforting.

They have a gender-neutral bathroom, and it is HUGE. It is so big that it is also used as a storage for extra tables and kids highchair. Clean, well maintained, and well lit.

We loved our experience here so much, that we went back recently. This time, to get actual breakfast. I was happy to see they had loads of baked goods again. The fluffy bear and cow are waiting for us with some home baked cookies.

Since we have done the coffee flight already, we didn’t get them even though the flavors were different. We got Mocha Cold Brew Coffee Float ($9/Large) and Raspberry Flavored Latte ($5/Large). When they say large, they are not joking. Those coffees were huge!

For food, I got their Sausage, Egg & Cheese ($8) on toasted Bagel ($3). I also added the home fries for additional $4. A bit pricier in total than expected for a simple dish, but they were filling and satisfying. Their bagels are made daily, and have several different flavors. I chose Jalapeno Chedder, and it was nice and doughy with a little kick. It was a nice sized sandwich, as you can see me “trying” to hold them on top of each other in one hand. The sausage was meaty and packed with flavor.

My hubby went with Two Eggs with Home Fries & French Toast ($14.95). He changed the regular French Toast to S’mores French Toast for additional $3. It was a big breakfast, as you can see. S’mores French Toast was fun, but as you can imagine, it was extra sweet and decadent. The Marshmallow fluff cream thing took it to the next level there. Be sure to do some walking to burn all that calorie afterwards. LOL.

The ladies who work here were as friendly and welcoming as before. They might not have gourmet dishes or drinks at some high-end restaurant, but they sure give you the warm, sweet feeling. You know your business is appreciated, and that they are happy to see you. It sure is a local favorite, and we enjoyed both of our visits there. We will be back in the future for more of their homey dishes!
