Breakfast Club – Soho

While we were in London, we wanted to get some good ole English breakfast. We had a few breakfast spots we wanted to try, and this place was on the top of our list. The bad thing is that they do NOT take reservation, and they are VERY popular… We were hoping to avoid too long of a line by going on a weekday, but not much luck there. We first went to the Breakfast club on D’Arblay Street, but the line was really long, and was about 45 minutes to one hour wait… So, we walked over to the one on Berwick Street, just a few blocks away. There, we were told about 20 minutes, and the staff guaranteed that the wait there will be MUCH shorter. Well, guess what? It took almost one hour of wait time!!!

Needless to say, about the time we FINALLY got our table, we were a bit annoyed, irritated, and very hungry. So not cool… Well, the staff did apologize several times. Unless you are a party of two, the wait time can be double or triple what they tell you… The inside is kind of small, with counter seats and some tables along the wall. In the back, they had some booth seating, but not many.

We started off with some coffee. They do a nice latte art… And I liked their coffee cups.

We got Flat White to share. Their espresso coffees are serves as a double shot, so it was nice and strong. Very flavorful and nice cup of coffee!

Our lovely friend got a Latte, and she found a little message inside her cup. Seems like the cute coffee cups comes with I heart BC (“Breakfast Club”) in the inside. Well, I will be the judge of that…

My hubby and I were supposed to share one breakfast dish, but I was VERY hungry after one hour of wait… So, I decided to get a breakfast sandwich. I chose the one with Bacon, Egg, Cheese & Hash Brown (£6.50). It is made with bacon, egg, cheddar, hash brown & chipotle mayo. They had an option to make this order into Breakfast Sandwich Deal with additional £2, and get two hash browns, and a drink (OJ, tea, or coffee). I decided to do that since I was already getting a coffee. This made my total to be £8.50, and got the flat latte to be included in this order.

The sandwich had thick and juicy bacon slices. Egg was cooked to perfection, just as I requested, giving us egg porn… And it had their hash brown on the bottom! I like hash browns, and their hash was really tasty! Crispy on the edges and soft and potato-y inside, with perfect seasoning. The buns were nice and soft, yet able to hold all these ingredients without falling apart. Pretty good sandwich.

Our friend went with a bit healthier option with the breakfast sandwich. She chose Avocado, Egg & Cheese (£6.50). This one is made with onions, sun-blushed tomatoes & chipotle mayo. She also did the Breakfast Sandwich Deal (£8.50), which again, gives you two hash browns, and a drink (OJ, tea, or coffee). She got her eggs scrambled, and it looked really good too. She seemed like she enjoyed it very much.

My hungry hungry hubby had his heart set on The Full Monty (£11.50). It comes with bacon, sausage, Doreenʼs black pudding, home-style potatoes, creamy mushrooms, beans, tomato, eggs & toast. This was the dish we were going to share. And as you can see, it is HUGE! If I knew how big this plate was going to be, maybe I stopped myself from ordering the breakfast sandwich…

It had so many things there, much more than I expected. Great variety and all with high quality. You could get eggs to be poached, fried or scrambled. We chose poached, and they came out perfect. Everything on this plate was super tasty!

The bathroom is all the way in the back, small but clean. They had loads of toilet papers atop, which was a challenge to get for someone short like me…

We were sitting at the table near the entrance, and the space between the table and the bar seating was really tight. People with large bags and backpacks were hitting other people and things as they walked by… A female traveler with HUGE backpack hit condiments off our table on her way out. Please watch your bags, especially if you know your bag is humongous!

Our friend who has a cute obsession with mugs decided to purchase one of their mugs. This one looked like an orange robot. The other colors had different designs. Fun souvenir!

So, at the end, we were full and happy. They did provide some wonderful breakfast, and the service was friendly too. And here is a secret to getting your table faster… There is an app called WalkIn that you can download, and join the queue on your way there! The only thing is that it requires UK mobile number…
