iPic Theater @ Hudson Lights #2

This is my second review of the iPic theater. (You can read my first review here: http://www.foodlovergirl.com/ipic-theater-hudson-lights/). We again went there on a weekend, in a morning. I love how empty they are during the morning shows! This one was in a smaller theater, with only four rows of seats. Other than the number of rows, the basic set up is the same. The first row is the Premium seats, in olive green. They are pretty close to the screen, so I don’t want to sit here, even thought they are cute chaise lounge chairs. The second row is the Premium Plus sections, and are in orange. From this row up, the seats come with your own server. The first row in orange are individual seats (but still shares the mini table).

The last two rows in this theater are in pairs, and are in “pods”, which I really like. It does create more privacy from the rest, and blanket, pillow, and a complimentary bag of popcorn, you get to feel like a bit of loyalty. We sat at the last (fourth) row, and the view of the screen was great. Just the right distance away from the screen (in my opinion)

Since it was still in the morning hours, we had a coffee ($2.50). It was a good cup of coffee, but nothing special. A good price though, and comes with milk which is much appreciated.

Then comes the complimentary bag of popcorn per person. It looks small, but then again, it is just the right size (if you are ordering other food). We usually don’t finish the bag entirely. It is nice and buttery, freshly popped!

For food, we ordered Chef BEn Ford’s Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($18). It is a long title…but hey, they can name their whatever they want, and all we want is the end result. It is made with BBQ Pork, gouda, pepper relish, grain mustard aioli, and caramelized onions on Texas toast. It also comes with sweet potato fries, but we asked if it could be changed to truffle fries, and the waitress swapped it out without issue (and without any extra fee). It also came with two whole pickles.

During our last visit, we had their sweet potato fries and tater tots, so we wanted to try the truffle fries. It was good, not great, but nice truffle aroma and parmesan on top was really good.

The pulled pork grilled cheese was good, meaty and flavorful. It was a good portion, since it had nice amount of pork in it. It was not as cheesy as I wanted them to be, but still flavorful. The toast was nice and buttery, and toasted just right. Not amazing sandwich but comfort food at the theater is a good thing to have.

I also had a “free dessert” reward on my account, so I asked for it to our waitress, and she brought out two large chocolate chip cookies. Unfortunately, the free dessert is not your choice of dessert, but still a nice gesture to get whatever the dessert for free. Good to know we are appreciated as customers.

The service is always great during the morning shows. Our waitress, Ashleigh, was really sweet and polite, she went over all the buttons around the seat and table, what they are and how to use them. She took a good care of us with a nice smile. Will definitely be going back again, but during the morning hours, since it always works out perfectly for us. It is not a place to go get amazing food, but the purpose is to watch a movie in a luxury, with a side of good comfort food. The price is a bit high, but you pay for the experience here, and we certainly do enjoy the experience!
