Paulk Vineyards

We went to Georgia for a short trip in March, and we went to this lovely Paulk Vineyards for wine tasting. It was much bigger than I expected, and along the way to get to Paulk Vineyards, all we saw was field and field of vineyards! We went on Monday after lunch time, so it was nice and quiet. They had some outdoor seating up front, looking very relaxing. I can just imagine myself sitting there, sipping some wine.

Since I happen to know the family who owns and operates this vineyard, we got the special tour of the whole place. It was so cool and interesting. They have a large indoor space in addition to their massive outdoor space, and often hosts fun events. Their operation side was impressive, both in size and cleanliness. Everything was set to the maximum efficiency, and they use/sell every part of the grape in every process, I believe they have almost no waste, which is amazing!

The tasting room was very cozy and had such warmth to it. Here you can see all the wines, merchandise, and other products made with their grapes. I liked the simple decor with the pop of color at the bar.

And I must mention, they also have strawberry fields, where you can either pick your own strawberries, or purchase the ones already picked. We had some (or many) of them, and they were so juicy and sweet and great! And something else that we loved…their slushies! They have wine slushies, and non-alcoholic slushies. We got to try the Muscadine Wine Slushy, and it was awesome!

Paulk Vineyards is THE largest Muscadine Vineyard in the World! Now, to be honest, I didn’t know what muscadine grape was, until I visited Paulk Vineyards… But I was happy to learn, especially it produces sweet wines which I love, and the grape seems to have some health benefits. They offer three lines of wines. The Family: muscadine wines, The Farm: fruit & specialty muscadine wines, and Sweet Tree: wines infused with fruit flavors. Muscadine wines are named after Paulk Family members which are so lovely and sweet. The fruit & specialty muscadine wines are named after the roads and places around the area.

We each chose different line of wines, so that we can try more flavors. I went with Sweet Tree line, since I love sweet, fruity wines. My hubby went with The Farm line. The Sweet Tree line has three white wines with Scuppernong Grapes, and three red wines with Muscadine Grapes. We got to taste Scuppernong, Peach, White Sangria, Muscadine, Watermelon, and Red Sangria. They were all sweet, some tasted almost like juice. Each with beautiful color and scent. I LOVED them all! The Farm line has three fruity wines and two specialty wines. Country Line Road was blackberry wine, sweet and tart. Highway 32 was blueberry wine, sweet and fruity, with touch of oak notes. Satilla Road is strawberry wine, I know, strawberry wine! Lake Day was has notes of honeysuckle, mango, and pomegranate. Last but not least, Paulk Cabin with notes of nutty, orange marmalade, and oak. Sweet and strong, like the Paulk family.

With the wine tasting, we also got their charcuterie board which was perfect with all the wines. It had some cured meats, nuts, cheese and crackers, and jam/jelly.

This was such a great visit, we loved all the wines, and the charcuterie board. We especially enjoyed the tour of the facility and learning about the grapes, process, and the history of the Paulk Vineyards. If you love sweet, fruity wines, and have the chance to visit them, I totally recommend! They are also sold at many stores, and yes, they do ship to many states around the US!
