We visited GA in March, and one of the restaurants/eateries we visited was Plucked Up Chicken & Biscuits. This was actually a pleasant surprise, unplanned tasty discovery, due to our flight back NYC was delayed by several hours.
It was busy and lively for Thursday morning, I bet it is packed during the weekend rush hours. The interior was funky and fun, with lots of interesting things on display. They had a couple of Chicken figures that looked like superheroes! It was a nice size with a good number of tables and chairs, and also had a small bar counter with handful of seats.
Their menu was separated into three sections, easy to see and understand exactly what you are gong to get. Since this is a place that focuses on Chicken and Biscuit, we made sure to get something with Chicken and Biscuit. We went with 2 Egg Breakfast ($8.99) and The Chicken Coop ($12.49), with a cup of coffee ($2) which came with free refills.
2 Egg Breakfast comes with Grits or Home Fries and Biscuit. You can add choice of Meat such as Bacon, Ham, Sausage, etc. for $3, which is what we did. We of course went with one of the chicken options, Fried Chicken to be added. This made our 2 Egg Breakfast to be $11.99, which is still very affordable. The fried chicken pieces might not look like much, but they were great! Crunchy exterior with super juicy inside, packed with flavor. It was finger-licking good! The eggs were done just the way we wanted, over easy with runny center. Yum!
We chose Grits over home fries. You got to get some grits when you are vising the south. LOL. It was a nice little bowl of grits, solid flavor and comforting. The biscuit was so fluffy and airy, buttery and delicious! We were very happy with this order. Plucked Up Chicken & Biscuits surely is the master of chicken and biscuits.
The Chicken Coop is served Open Face with Fried or Grilled Chopped Chicken, Sausage Gravy, Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, and 2 Over Easy Eggs. We went with Fried Chicken on this as well. It was much bigger in portion than expected, and what a display! So enticing and could not wait to dig in. It was very good, a comfort food at its best! It had everything you want in every bite. The gravy was so flavorful, adding the extra juicy texture to it all. The egg gave us perfect egg porn too. It sure was the champion of breakfast.
The bathroom is located to the back right. They have one gender-neutral bathroom. It was a nice size, clean, well-lit, and well stocked.
We had a really nice breakfast here at Plucked Up Chicken & Biscuits. Our flight getting delayed gave us an opportunity to discover this tasty spot! It seems like it was very popular among the locals, and I can understand the reason why. The service was very friendly and welcoming. The food is affordable and comforting. We enjoyed every bite! If we go back to Columbus, we will be sure to visit Plucked Up Chicken & Biscuits again!
