Jigger’s Diner #2

We visited Jigger’s Diner at the beginning of this year for their famous Johnny Cakes. It was about the time we went back for more! We missed out on Flavored Coffee the last visit, so we made sure check out the flavored coffee this time. They had some options for Cold Coffee and Hot Coffee, and they had more flavors for Hot Coffee. It was a rather warm/hot day, so I wanted Iced Coffee. They had Snickerdoodle Flavored Iced Coffee ($2.99), which sounded pretty good. It came in a large Coca Cola cup, and I mean really large! To my surprise, it was unsweetened, almost a bit bitter. It had a nice flavor, although I couldn’t really tell it was snickerdoodle flavor. The AC was on really strong in here, I wished if I had ordered a hot coffee…

For food, I went with Banana Bread French Toast Supreme ($16.99). This item had “A Diner FAVOURITE!!!!” next to it. How could I resist??? It is Diner made banana bread dipped in vanilla egg bath, and grilled golden. Topped with fresh strawberries, bananas, and powdered sugar. It is served with two eggs any style and bacon. Banana bread was so good, no wonder it is diner favorite! It had a great banana flavor, rich and sweet, comforting and delicious!

I had my eggs over-easy, which was cooked just the way I wanted! It came with four pieces of bacon strips, thin and crispy. Nice mix of sweet and savory in one order!

My hubby went with Lobster & Cheddar Grits ($18.99). It comes with 1/4 lb. lobster tail & claw meat, dipped in warm butter. Served over a bowl of cheddar grits. It also comes with a side of fresh sliced avocado.

It had generous amount of plump lobster claw and tail meats. Grits were grain-y and satisfying. Avocado on the side was interesting. Nice way to improve digestion with heavy item. The cheddar was more like two thick slices of cheddar cheese put on top of the hot grits. It was good, but nothing like the Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ grits though…

We had a nice breakfast here, once again. I somehow feel like this place is better when the weather is cold. Not sure why… Anyways, I am sure we will visit again for more sometime in the future!
