Landfall Restaurant

I’ve visited Landfall Restaurant a couple of times, but I haven’t written about them…until now. I do get behind on all the great spots I’ve been to, sorry about that! The last time I visited Landfall Restaurant was during the autumn of 2021. I know, last year. I am trying to catch up! Landfall Restaurant has a beautiful outdoor seating with fire pit and all the right ambiance.

But the interior of Landfall Restaurant is really interesting too. I recommend you taking a peek inside, even if you are eating at the outdoor dining area in front of the restaurant. The interior is constructed with wood pieces taken from shipwrecks, and boards from old buildings. So cool!

It has all sorts of interesting paraphernalia in here, but the best and most well-known item is the Grecian Urn. I circled in pink in the photo for you below. It is called an amphora, “which hangs from the rafters, came from the Aegean Sea, off the coast of Greece. It was pulled up in a fisherman’s net beside the island of Evvia, and is over 2,000 years old.”

Landfall is a waterfront restaurant, so it comes with beautiful view of the water! While gazing at the amazing and calm view, you can enjoy some tasty drinks too. We ordered Corman Old Fashioned ($15) and Landfall Lemonade ($14). Corman Old Fashion is made with Whiskey, Chocolate Chili Bitters, Smoked Cloves, Simple, Orange, Filthy Cherry. It had smoked orange peel that gave extra smoky notes and aroma. It was a very nice drink to relax and wind down. Landfall Lemonade is made with Cucumber Vodka, Pomegranate Liquor, Blueberry Vodka, Lemonade, Soda. It was a very refreshing drink, perfect on a sunny day!

A staff brought complimentary Portuguese bread with garlic butter in the middle (comes with dinner entrée orders). We ordered a couple of appetizer dishes, starting with Onion Rings ($10/Large). I must say, the onion rings were disappointing. They were overdone, dried up, and not good in any way…

Stuffed Quahog ($4.25), on the other hand, was excellent. Packed with flavor, juicy, and perfectly baked! The side of butter for extra buttery, juicy flavor is another plus.

For main dish, we all ordered different seafood dish. The first one was Grilled Fresh Swordfish ($37). This dish is also available in Cajun and Landfall Style. With Entrée dish, you get a House Salad and a choice of side. This one is with House salad and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The swordfish was fresh, nicely cooked, flakey and juicy. The mashed potato was really good too. Creamy and flavorful.

Then there was the Lobster Pie Casserole ($48) with a side of Baked Potato. The casserole is made with Fresh Picked Lobster Meat with Mushrooms and Shallots in a Jarlsberg Sherried Cream Sauce. It might look small, but it was a decent size, and packed with lobster chunks! It was decadent and rich too.

Broiled Seafood Platter ($37) with a side of Garlic Mashed Potato was my hubby’s choice. It is made with Sweet & Tender Swordfish, Shrimp, Scallops, lightly sprinkled with Crumb Dressing, and serviced with Creamy Scampi Sauce. It had nice amount seafood in the dish, all big chunks and came out piping hot! Very fresh and tender, delicious!

I went with Seafood Newburg over Linguine ($37), made with Tender Morsels of Lobster, Shrimp, Scallops, and Swordfish, cooked in a Creamed Sherry Sauce. This dish can be served over Linguine or in a Bread Bowl. I chose Linguine, but I think getting this in a bread bowl would be super fun! I just wanted to leave enough room for dessert…or two… It came with a generous amount of seafood, all nice big chunks. The sauce was very flavorful and I really enjoyed it!

And indeed I saved some room for dessert! We ordered Homemade Apple Crisp ($6) and Kahlua Parfait ($9). The Apple Crisp was nice and warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Sweet and tart, great dessert. The Parfait was a nice size, topped with lots of whipped cream. It was sweet and filling, I enjoyed the Kahlua flavor. Perfect way to end a nice meal!

We had a nice dinner there, everything we ordered, except for the Onion Rings, were great. The ambiance, food, drinks, and the service was pleasant. If you are looking for a good seafood spot in Woods Hole (although they offer more than seafood), give Landfall Restaurant a try!
